Dear Praying Friends,
FURLOUGH
We will be on furlough February 2015 through May 2015. God has been working in Kenya and in the Regions Beyond and we look forward to reporting on God’s blessings of the last few years to as many of our supporting churches as possible. If you would like our family to make a report to your church during this furlough we ask that you please send us an email at rawtokenya@gmail.com. Additionally, we can be contacted by phone at 254.733.600798. Remember, we are 8 hours ahead of EST. We will only be in the States for a few months and will try to accommodate those who contact us early. Trying to put together a furlough schedule is oftentimes like putting together a giant jigsaw puzzle. Most often the pieces fit together, but the earlier we begin working on it the better. We would love to visit you during this furlough, and if that is your desire also then please let us know.
TIMOTHY
Our son Timothy arrived in Kenya this past Monday to begin serving a three month internship in the ministries of the Grace Bible Baptist Church. Timothy is a student at Heartland Baptist Bible College and will begin his junior year in the fall. God has called him to be a missionary and he has a great burden for Africa and is praying about Congo. Before leaving Kenya for Bible college, he was able to visit Congo and serve in our Congo ministry several times. While serving in this internship he will spend a good portion of the time serving in Congo.
KAZIMIA
This coming Saturday I will be leaving on an extended trip to Congo. The main purpose of this trip is to travel to the village of Kazimia where we will be opening a branch of our Bible college. You may recall last year a prayer letter I wrote relating the story of the two day journey by boat to the village of Kazimia. It was the most difficult and heart wrenching experience of my life. (You can read it again on our blog mickeystokenya.blogspot.com.) God used that long, difficult trip to open my eyes to the much greater need in Congo and helped me realize that He has put us in the position to do something about that need. We will be meeting for one week with the pastors of approximately ten churches. These pastors will be traveling many days themselves to attend the classes. My son Timothy, Pastor Oloo, Pastor Musonga, and Brother Benard Adjai will accompany me on this trip. We ask for your prayers as we make this difficult journey. Part of the trip will be near rebel controlled areas. We will not have phone service for much of the trip so we will have no way to be in contact with our families. We ask that you please pray for our families while we are on this trip.
His for Kenya,
And the Regions Beyond,
The Mickey Family
